I have finally decided to take a leap of faith and do something I’ve always wanted to do since my young university days and that was to take a working holiday to a foreign country for a period of up to one year. At first, I thought the only way of doing this working holiday from Canada was with the student-base programs like Swap Canada which offered a limited number of countries. However, upon further research through the Canadian Government website, there was a wealth more information and potential countries to visit and find short term employment with. The catch though, was all the planning and visa application requirements etc. was to be all done on my own. A challenge I accepted with open arms and a grin of course. You can find a list of countries that Canada has an agreement with to participate in this travel and work abroad program.
Here, I hope to share my experience from the application stage which I am currently in to the adventures I experience during my 12 month travel and work abroad program. Let’s go!
